Robin Joy Photography - Storytelling Photography - Fort Collins, Colorado
About RobinI started my photography journey in the 7th grade when I joined the photography club after school. I learned all of the basics in the darkroom. We learned on black and white film and processed everything by hand. I learned the touch and feel of photographs were amazing and something to be cherished forever. I caught the bug and have had a strong interest in photography ever since.
My favorite movie is Goonies. My favorite type of food is Mexican. My two favorite people are my niece and nephew who live in Australia. - They are my original muses. I am a nurse in my other life. I love craft beer. No, I really love craft beer. I prefer my coffee to be room temperature. Tim Tams are as good as Girl Scout Cookies. Spring is my favorite season. I have three cats - Andrea my blind kitty, Bocelli her seeing eye cat, and Georgia the pretty princess. |
My History: |
So how did I get into storytelling photography? Simple - it came naturally. When I first started pursuing photography seriously I was trying every different kind of style possible. After a while it became frustrating as I was drawn to the un-posed pictures. I did a portfolio review and picked out my favorite portraits. And guess what - they were of moments in time, captured as they occurred. That's when I decided to focus on this genre. It speaks to me and I feel connected to the people, the images, and the feelings they invoke.
